With a degree in Psychology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a PhD in Pharmacology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, José Carlos Bouso is a researcher and psychologist specializing in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. He has served as Scientific Director at ICEERS (International Center for Ethnobotanical Education, Research & Service) and has led pioneering studies on ayahuasca, MDMA, ibogaine, and medical cannabis. Currently, he is the Scientific Director of the Synaptica Clinic, where he integrates clinical research, teaching, and evidence-based therapeutic practice.
